This is Vivian, whose wedding I was fortunate enough to shoot a while back. We hadn't done a bridal session though, so we snuck off during the reception and got this shot in the garden.
It was dark outside, and I was feeling adventurous, so I shot at like f/11 or something. You shoot at that aperture in broad daylight; doing that at night is begging for a sh-t exposure.
The lighting was a single speedlight shot through a beauty dish I had made with a blank CD-ROM and a salad bowl; my able assistant Derek wielded it.
I shot three frames. We were done in about ten seconds.
This image is what shooters call SOOC, or straight out of camera. That means it has zero edits. I didn't even adjust anything when processing - this is EXACTLY what the photo looked like when I took it. I LOVE this shot, I LOVE that I nailed it in camera, and I love how this shot looks printed on metal. Come by my office and I'll let you see it.
Yeah.
